Mason joined the Board in 2020 after serving as a volunteer in the Amigos de Jesus Mercado for two years. After an unprecedented snowstorm hit the community, and the dire need of those served by Amigos became clear when water was scarce and many needed medical attention, Mason and his wife Nancy increased their volunteer efforts to transporting clientele to the hospital and delivering things like furniture and appliances to those who had no way of getting them. Mason joined the Board to have more direct involvement to ensure that the underserved populations in Wimberley and the surrounding area would continue to have a voice. Mason is an industrial designer by trade, and holds a Graphic Arts degree from Texas State University, which he puts to use for Amigos in the form of this website, and other branding needs.
